Product Description
Bariatric Advantage Chewable Iron 29 mg features both Ferronyl® carbonyl iron and ferrous fumarate along with added vitamin C to support iron absorption. Available in delicious passion fruit flavor. No iron taste.
Iron deficiency is one of the most common deficiencies seen with patients of all bariatric procedure types.
ASMBS guidelines call for a minimum of 18-27 mg of iron per day for patients of all bariatric procedure types, and many patients need 45-60 mg per day and should include vitamin C to help increase absorption.
Vitamin C can help with the absorption of iron. Iron and calcium should be taken two hours apart. Calcium has been shown to reduce iron absorption after a meal by 50-60%.
Iron carries oxygen and plays a critical role in enzyme functions, immune function, growth, and development.

My followup labs show that I improve. I love the taste..dont mind at all taking them. I have a kidney issue that causes me to have mild anemia problems. I am 74 and 15 yrs post Gastric Bypass. I have had great results using Bariatric supplements. Ive had no complications from my surgery and m so greateful. I am a retired nurse and encourage all bariatric surgery people to start with these supplements and vitamins as they are on top of what you need . Their quality is excellent. They know how your body can best absorb post operatively. Immediately after surgery and while your adjusting to the diet and the weight loss...so much in the new "journey" to learn...these are easy..so you get the nutrients you need...while you're learning a new mindful eating lifestyle. It made the adjustment period andy life so much easier. My labs and the way I feel are always great. I definitely am a believer in BA. My concern is they are expensive ..but I have confidence in they are the best for me.

Not as chewable as before

The pills in most recent bottle received Dec 2023, were much firmer, harder. Difficult to chew, compared to previous bottles. Will have to switch brands or something. I’ve taken these for years, they changed.
