Protein deficiency is common after bariatric surgery as dietary intake of protein is generally reduced following procedures. Studies have shown that even 12 months after bariatric surgery many patients are not getting the minimal recommended daily protein intake of 60 grams/day.1
ASMBS guidelines for post-surgical bariatric patients call for a minimum protein intake of 60 g/day and up to 1.5 g per kg of ideal body weight per day with higher levels to be assessed on an individualized basis.2 Other bariatric clinical guidelines state 70-90 grams per day as likely more adequate while some patients may need >100 grams of protein per day based on their procedure and body weight.

I found this to be cloyingly sweet, even when using twice as much water as recommended. I was utterly shocked to see that there is actual added sugar! It never occurred to me to check the ingredients when ordering from bariatric advantage. it's expensive, so i'll finish it but never again. i'm afraid to even try one of the other flavors.

This protein powder is a staple in my husband and my diet. It dissolves completely, tastes great and is never chalky. We can add flavor with sugar free syrup or a little fruit, but on its own it is delicious. It has the best vitamin and mineral values compared to most on the market. We have it on autoship so we never run out.
Crème is my favorite by far!

Crème is so good!! It doesn't seem as sweet as some of the others. I mix one scoop at a time with coffee and ice cubes in the mornings. Also, try it with diet root beer for a dessert like treat. Nutra Bullet gets rid of the carbonation. It also makes any smoothie taste extra creamy.

I ordered this because I won't be able to have an iced coffee for a bit and hoped this would fill some of that void. I don't find that it has much of a coffee flavor but the taste is pleasant. To me it tastes more chocolatey than it does like coffee. I like it for a quick breakfast when I don't have time to make eggs. I found that if you make it a little bit ahead of time and let it sit in the fridge with ice in it that it thickens nicely. I will definitely purchase again.
